"I will draw as long as I live"
«Io finché vivo, disegno» (Gianni De Luca)
Why do I paint and is there logic in consuming energy, time and other things to draw and paint? No, I don't think there is, infact there absolutly isn't but it's in my personality, I draw and pait for love, for passion and for necessity.
For love and passion and in emotion there is no logic, and often we suffer... For necessity because drawing is nearly a physical need, which I cannot live without. I have tried many times to stop as if it were a bad habit but without ever managing completely, returning eventually to hold pencils or brushes in my hand.
It's my way of looking for an ideal of beauty and truth now faded, of not wanting to let go of the childish part which has stayed within me and is in every one of us, of wanting to continue to have dreams and dream with open eyes, my way of resisting a world in which fantasy, culture and art are considered superficial and, because of this, are forgotten and oppressed.
